The Wal-Mart Point of Sale (POS) Agreement was negotiated by Lainey and Linda Dardarian using Structured Negotiations on behalf of the American Council of the Blind, the American Foundation for the Blind, and the California Council of the Blind. In this Agreement, Wal-Mart agreed to install tactile point of sale devices at all Wal-Mart stores in the United States. It was the first agreement in the country to address this issue. Wells Fargo Iowa and Utah Agreement

This is the second agreement that Wells Fargo signed with the blind community about Talking ATMs as a result of Structured Negotiations. This agreement was negotiated by Lainey and Linda Dardarian on behalf of the Utah Council of the Blind and the Iowa Council of the Blind. Union Bank of California Agreement

The Union Bank settlement agreement was negotiated by Lainey using Structured Negotiations on behalf of California blind advocate Margie Donovan. In the agreement, the bank agreed to install Talking ATMs at all its locations and implement a comprehensive alternative format policy. Union Bank of California had the first Talking ATMs in Washington State and Oregon. Subsequently, the bank also committed to make its website accessible. American Express Braille and Large Print Agreement

The American Express Braille Settlement Agreement was negotiated by Lainey Feingold and Linda Dardarian using Structured Negotiations on behalf of Paul Parravano and Clarence Whaley. In the Agreement, American Express agreed to provide monthly credit card statements and year end summaries in Braille and Large Print for all American Express customers in the United States. Safeway POS Agreement

The Safeway Point of Sale Agreement was negotiated by Lainey and co-counsel Linda Dardarian on behalf of the American Council of the Blind, the American Foundation for the Blind, and the California Council of the Blind using Structured Negotiations. Safeway agreed to install tactile point of sale devices at all Safeway owned stores in the United States. Rite Aid Web Accessibility Agreement

The Rite Aid Web Accessibility Agreement was negotiated by Lainey Feingold and co-counsel Linda Dardarian using Structured Negotiations on behalf of the American Council of the Blind (ACB), the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB), and the California Council of the Blind (CCB). In this agreement, Rite Aid committed to upgrade its website to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) promulgated by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) of the World Wide Web Consortium. The agreement specifically states that if there is a visual “Captcha” on the Rite Aid web site, there will also be an alternative security measure that is equally effective and usable by blind and visually-impaired users. At the time this web accessibility agreement was negotiated, these parties also negotiated a Rite Aid Point of Sale Agreement to ensure that devices in over 5,000 Rite Aid stores have tactile keypads so that a blind customer can independently enter his or her PIN. Rite Aid Tactile POS Agreement

The Rite Aid Point of Sale (POS) Agreement was negotiated by Lainey Feingold and co-counsel Linda Dardarian using Structured Negotiations on behalf of the American Council of the Blind (ACB), the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB), and the California Council of the Blind (CCB). In this agreement, Rite Aid has ensured that all of its 5000 stores across the United States will have tactile point of sale devices so that blind and visually impaired customers can independently enter their PIN and other confidential information. At the time this tactile point of sale agreement was negotiated, these parties also negotiated the Rite Aid Web Accessibility Agreement to ensure that riteaid.com is accessible to and usable by all customers in accordance with guidelines promulgated by the Web Accessibility Initiative of the World Wide Web consortium. Safeway Web Accessibility Settlement Agreement

This is the settlement agreement about the accessibility of Safeway’s online grocery delivery website. The company worked on this initiative in Structured Negotiations with individual customers with visual impairments in California and Washington State. The Safeway shoppers were represented by the Law Office of Lainey Feingold and Linda Dardarian of the Oakland, California civil rights firm. Safeway will be using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA as its web standard. When its grocery delivery site meets this standard, Safeway will remove a legacy separate site known as the “Access Site” that it had maintained.
