Caremark Offers Talking Prescription Labels, Braille, Large Print

Congratulations CVS Health! Today the largest integrated pharmacy company in the United States announced that is now offering talking, braille and large print prescription labels through its mail service pharmacy, commonly known as Caremark. The labels are available to Individuals with vision impairments. This important health, safety and accessibility initiative was reached as a result of a collaboration with the American Council of the Blind and several blind Caremark members. Rite Aid Now Offers Talking Prescription Labels

Congratulations to Rite Aid! Today the company announced it is offering talking prescription labels at all of the company’s retail pharmacies in the United States. (Rite Aid currently operates more than 4,500 locations). CVS Talking Prescription Container Settlement Agreement

This post contains the settlement agreement between CVS/pharmacy and the American Council of the Blind, the California Council of the Blind and the American Foundation for the Blind. CVS is now providing ScripTalk talking prescription labels through cvs.com mail order to customers across the United States. The agreement was reached through Structured Negotiations; no lawsuit was needed. Walmart Offers Talking Prescription Containers to Customers with Visual Impairments

The Walmart press release posted here announces a pilot program in which Talking Prescription Containers will be available for blind Walmart customers across the country through Walmart mail order, and also for blind customers at three Walmart stores. This is the first time in the United States that a national pharmacy retailer has piloted talking prescription technology on a national basis. This announcement is the result of Structured Negotiations between CVS, the American Council of the Blind, the California Council of the Blind and the American Foundation for the Blind.
